Francesca Ajossa is an organist/harpsichordist, born in Italy and currently residing in the Netherlands.
She began her formal studies at the Conservatory of Cagliari (IT), where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in organ and organ composition. She continued with her master studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory (NL) with Ben van Oosten, where she graduated cum laude in 2020.
From 2020 to 2022, Francesca held the position of Organ Scholar at St. Peter und Paul in Ratingen (DE), and enriched her academic profile by completing a Master’s degree in Music Psychology at the University of York (UK). In 2023, she successfully completed another musical master’s, “Claviorganum”, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg (DE), where she studied with Menno van Delft, Pieter van Dijk, and Isolde Kittel-Zerer.
Francesca participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Guy Bovet, Ludger Lohmann, Hans-Ola Ericsson, and Olivier Latry and took part in prestigious academies, including the International Bach Academy led by Prof. Jacques van Oortmerssen and the Excellence Class at the Haarlem Organ Festival.
A regular performer at music festivals across Europe, Francesca’s repertoire spans from Early Music to contemporary works, including world premieres. Her artistry has been recognized in international competitions, where she has won two second prizes, and she has recorded three CDs.
Currently, Francesca is pursuing a PhD at KU Leuven (BE), serves as the main organist of the Church in ’t Woudt (NL), and is the artist-in-residence of the Contius Foundation, where she actively promotes the Contius organ of St. Michielskerk in Leuven.
